Oat & Apple Doggie Pretzel Recipe

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 C Unsweetened Apple Sauce (organic is best)
  • 2 C Oat Flour
    Note: If you don't have oat flour, just throw some rolled oats in your blender until a fine powder is formed. 
  • 3/4 C Old Fashioned Rolled Oats


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg (keep a tablespoon of egg aside for brushing the pretzels before baking) and apple sauce together until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the oat flour and rolled oats to the wet ingredients, stirring until a thick dough forms.
  4. Roll pieces of the dough into tubes about 10” and about the width of a pencil.
  5. Make a pretzel shape with each tube by first making a U shape, then twist the ends together and fold back to the top, pinch the end in to make sure they are secure.
  6. Place the pretzels on the prepared baking sheet and brush with remaining beaten egg. 
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Allow the pretzels to cool completely before serving them to your dog.
